Infused with the essence of the diverse flowers bees pollinate, Odoratus candles offer a distinct experience.
Each Odoratus candle is unique.
Some notes about our candles
In our candle-making journey, we chose the natural beauty of combining wood wicks and beeswax, along with carefully added fragrances. While it’s a pairing that offers a warm, beautiful aesthetic and a gentle crackling sound, this combination comes with its challenges.
Beeswax, being a hard wax, is difficult to work with, and the wood wicks demand just the right balance to burn steadily. Yet, it’s this very complexity that makes our candles so special — each one is a unique creation that fills your space with warmth and fragrance.
Our candles are genuinely one-of-a-kind.
No two candles burn the same, and they boast a powerful initial first burn as the flame propels through the wick. It will decrease its intensity after a few minutes. Some cracks may appear between uses as the beeswax tells its delightful story.
With that in mind, please follow our tips for safety and optimal candle care:
Our Tips for an Optimal Experience
Wick Care:
- Before every burn, trim the wick to 1/4 inch or 5mm.
- Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris.
Burning cycles:
- Allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the jar, which will take approximately 2 hours, to prevent tunneling.
- Limit each session to no more than 4 hours - don’t burn a candle all the way down in one cycle.
Candle Placement and Lighting:
- Always leave a distance of approximately 10cm or 4 inches between candles.
- Always use a candle holder specifically designed for candle use.
- Use long matches or a long-reach lighter when lighting a candle.
- Light the candle in a well-ventilated room, but avoid exposing it to air currents.
Candle Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Don’t touch or move the candle until completely cooled down.
- Never light a candle and use it as a night light or while you may fall asleep.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle - hot wax may splatter and the thermal shock might break the glass container.
- Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly - use a candle snuffer.
